Each week, I looked forward to the virtual book group session. The feedback, support, and accountability the group provided really helped me take action in my new business. Engaging with the book’s content directly with Beth, the author, and other introvert entrepreneurs, enriched the process and encouraged immediate application of the ideas and insights Beth offers in the book.

Next Virtual Book Group:
5 Wednesdays, September 13 – October 11, 2017
How many times have you read a book, liked the ideas, but set it aside when you were finished, thinking,
“I’ll make time to do that stuff… someday…”
Well, when it comes to “The Introvert Entrepreneur,” “someday” is NOW!
My first intention when I wrote “The Introvert Entrepreneur” was that it could stand alone and that you could find value in it, even if you focused on the “being” parts more than the “doing.” That intention still holds true.
But as I continue to write and reflect on the book’s message and potential, and especially on my role as a coach for entrepreneurs, I realize that inviting you to read the book isn’t enough.
I want you to take action.
That’s why I launched The Introvert Entrepreneur Virtual Book Group in Spring 2016.
Although the book [“The Introvert Entrepreneur”] certainly has the ability to stand on its own, being involved in the Virtual Book Group allows exposure to multiple viewpoints and interpretations that not only provide additional understanding and insight, but can challenge your initial thoughts in ways that you were not thinking of. Not to mention, the group discussions are moderated by the author and professional coach. I would highly recommend the Virtual Book Group!
~Mark from Michigan, Spring 2016 Participant
Why join us? During the 5 weeks we’re in community together, you will:
- take action on an area of your business that you have identified as your focus (for instance, networking, content management, social media, service or product development, etc.)
- create clear commitments based on your goals, values, and strengths, as well as a working outline to get started with implementation
- gather new tools and resources that will support your ongoing development
- break feelings of isolation by sharing experiences and strategies with fellow introvert entrepreneurs, perhaps even forming relationships that will extend beyond the Book Group (because introverts need people, too ;-))
Here’s how it works:
Read
You’ll receive a weekly email with information about which chapters to read, along with reflection questions and helpful resources. The awesome part about being part of a book group led by the author? You’re going to get bonus readings that didn’t make it into the book… what I call the Cutting Room Floor material.
Discuss
Every week for 90 minutes, we’ll meet on Zoom (a super user-friendly, free video conferencing platform… and yes, participation by video is required), where I’ll facilitate a discussion about what you’ve read. What’s cool is that we’ll devote ample time to focusing on how we’re going to apply what we’re learning to our businesses. It’s a confidential space for processing, questions, and resource sharing.
I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to be part of the Introvert Entrepreneur book group. The experience of sharing with like-minded people increased my motivation, focus, and confidence going forward. The book has great value just to read. But it truly came alive with possibility for me, due to our delving into it on a personal level and discussing this in the group.
~ Hilary, Author, Coach/Consultant, Winter 2016 Participant
Act
This is the exciting part! With the support and accountability of the group, you’ll take concepts from the book, make them your own, and start implementing strategies that will strengthen your business… now, rather than later.
Logistics
Each Virtual Book Group (VBG) enrollment is limited to 6 people, so that everyone has an opportunity to participate. Each 90-minute Zoom video call will start with each person sharing a win from the past week (10 minutes), then we’ll dive into the content. The facilitated discussion (60-65 minutes) will include conversation about key points, as well as your responses to the reflection questions. During the remaining time (10-15 minutes), we’ll each have an opportunity to share an intention or commitment to action for the coming week.
(Enrollment is open Aug 4 – Sept 8 – secure your spot now!)
In between calls, you are expected to read the chapters for the upcoming call and spend time with the reflection questions. You also have the option to connect with one another via the Private Facebook Group.
It doesn’t matter what format of the book you read: softcover, eBook, deluxe eBook, or audio book. It’s all the same content (well, the deluxe eBook has a few bonus audio files, but that’s the only difference)!
Beth is a highly skilled facilitator who creates an environment for fellow entrepreneurs to work on their business in a profound way. She uses deep listening, thought provoking questions, and insightful feedback to create a highly functioning group where each participant’s best self can shine. Even among introverts, there is a wide spectrum of ways of being. Beth’s respect for each individual’s authenticity is amazing.

I enjoyed the “aha moments” by working through the reflections questions that Beth provided to us. Even better was hearing everyone in the group talk about their own “aha moments”! By being in the virtual book group, I was able to dive deeper into the content of the book and gain the perspective of other aspiring entrepreneurs in my group, as well as benefiting from the wealth of tips shared among the group members.

Group Agreements
The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side. ~Margaret Carty
By registering in the course you’re making the following agreements…
Curiosity — We approach each discussion and our own experiences with curiosity and an open mind. We challenge the assumptions we have about ourselves and our business.
Challenge with Respect — We give honest, respectful feedback to other members of the group. We avoid giving others unsolicited feedback or advice.
Action — We commit to taking action towards our stated goal(s). It’s understood that we’ll all take wrong turns and make mistakes, and we’ll support each other to get back on track when this happens.
Present — We agree to be physically, mentally, and emotionally present during our agreed upon session times.
Inclusive — We honor and respect differences, and leverage differences to grow wisdom. We welcome members who have a sincere desire to learn and contribute, regardless of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, country of origin, sexual orientation, or disability.
Confidential — We agree keep all conversations, online and off, strictly confidential. Information shared may not be used to solicit fellow participants for business. The Group is a “no selling” zone.
Though our businesses were different in many ways (which made for rich discussions), our commonality as introverts gave us the freedom needed to speak up (and sometimes show up) each week! I received encouragement, support, and accountability from the group… something I would not have gotten had I read the book alone. Because I dared to amplify my strengths and create success on my terms while in the group, my business and clients are reaping the benefits!
